NYC Subway Light Sconce Antique Industrial #1456-13

Cast iron fitter. Made by Crouse-Hinds. Has special patented brass fitter ring that spins clockwise to release tension on milk glass shade, to accommodate for vibrations from the subway. This exact style of shade was used in 1911 when the subway was first electrified. Could be as late as 1920s. Wires are a bit short but look okay to use. May need rewire. Has old cream and beige paint. One of the brass screw heads is snapped off at base. Shade shows some wear but in overall good condition. Extremely rare fixture. Measures: 7" diameter shade x 7" out from wall with 4"x2.5" rectangular mount and 2.25" fitter.
